Daydreaming...at night...

Bored. Mindlessly watching television…work 7:30-4 tomorrow. Then I’m not sure.

Thinking about this summer. Want to go camping again, loved Lake Wissota-the hiking, kayaking, just the peace of camping-it relaxes me so much. Although this time around, I would choose different people to go with, or go by myself. Last time I went, the people I went with (myself included) were a little rowdy. One night several people came to visit us and drinking ensued…but things got loud and the night watchman had to come and talk to us.

This time around there wouldn’t be drinking (or at least not the “woo let’s party” type. None for me, since I don’t anymore-but others might want a little wine or something.

Then there was kayaking. I had never been kayaking before. LOVED it! We rented the 2 kayaks they had as well as a canoe (there were 4 of us) and went kayaking. One of the days we were kayaking, we found a little island-we went ashore and hiked some into the middle. We ended up finding this hidden site-obviously used for a party-there were ashes from a campfire, beer cans spread out, food wrappers spread out, and a school flag of some sort hanging up. It looked like an end of year/semester party.

Anyway we kept hiking and came to a clearing on top of a small sandy cliff. There was a picnic table up there and everything. We eventually found our way back to where we left the canoe and kayaks (otherwise it could have been the start of a horror movie-lol)-but decided to go for a little swim. Really fun because the bottom dropped off pretty quickly-so we could do cannonballs right from the shore and not hit the bottom when we jumped in.

I would love to take a little day trip there and just have a picnic with some friends.

Anyway, time to go to bed, long day at work tomorrow.

Ready for Autumn

Well after yesterday's suffocating humidity, I am SO ready for Autumn to be here.  I am ready to get rid of the stickiness that is always clinging to everything during the summer.  I can't wait to be able to wear long skirts again (and not melt) and sweaters and scarves and hats.

I am actually excited for classes too.  I feel like I'm finally on the right track.  I feel like I was on the track right next to "mine"-so I was going in the right general direction, but it wasn't quite fitting and I kept getting tripped up along the way.

I know what I have to do now, and I actually want to do it too.  I am only going to be available to work weekends at Target, so that will keep my school days free, but I will still be able to make some money.  I am looking into a job on campus just for about 10 hours a week or so-in one of the offices on campus.  If I don't find one, it's not a big deal, but it would be great for a little extra money.  Since winter is when it's tightest for my parents financially.

I am going camping with my parents and a few cousins on the 23rd of this month.  It's something we do every summer.  So I am looking forward to that-and then Autumn can come.

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted.  I've been working a lot now that it's summer.  So that's part of it.  There also hasn't been a whole lot going on...pretty boring.  Not that there's so much going on now, but I just saw that it had been awhile since I had posted so I decided I would.

It's still pretty warm, but not as bad as it was when I last posted.  I still wish it was 40-60 degrees.  I love those temps.  Love snuggling under the covers at night, not lying in bed with the fan going constantly.  I loved wearing my long denim skirts and a sweater.  I think I should move to Alaska.

Anyway, after work tomorrow I'm meeting mom and dad in Durand for a picnic.  They're bringing the puppies too.  It should be fun.

Anyway, I guess that's about it for now.

Shopping success!

I had a pretty good birthday. Nothing too special, but I went home for a few days. Mom and dad took me shopping and out to dinner.

Now I'm back in Eau Claire, I did some errands and cleaning today. My closet is now very clean and organized, as well as under my bed-that was actually the "big project" for the night. Although now I need to vacuum underneath-it's VERY dusty.

But now it's bedtime since I work a yucky 9-5:30 shift.

So...Dad had/has pneumonia, and he was taking antibiotics, but now he has an ear infection. And mom's surgery that was supposed to be on Wednesday, is now tomorrow. I plan on calling dad's cell tomorrow afternoon-to give her enough time to be done with surgery and starting to feel more awake.

I've decided that I'm going to bring back my facebook at the end of January. I miss the pictures, and it's just quicker to get ahold of people. But I'm going to keep my "friends" in check so I'm not adding every single person I've ever known. Just people I actually talk to and am friends with.

I'm trying to think of what I want to do for my birthday. I'm trying to decide between a movie/game night, or do something like bowling.

Well, I still have no facebook, I am slowly getting better at not checking my email every 2 minutes. Occasionally I still hear or see quotes and think "Facebook status" but that is getting better too.......................................I've been on my Special K diet and I feel like it's more successful than other times I've attempted a diet of any sort. I did have an interesting day yesterday, I really just wanted more than one meal bar before I went to work, so I had another one-BAD idea. WAY too much protein and fiber at one time. For the first hour at work my stomach kept cramping up-and I'm guessing that was the reason. It did stop, but I'm convinced it was too much fiber (or possibly protein) So I will definitely not be making that mistake again. I am planning on continuing with the special K diet for awhile. I also have a daily vitamin that I'm taking everyday. Although I might switch that to every other day, since I am getting quite a few vitamins from the special K products, so I don't want to overdo it too much on those.

Ahh. I'm sitting here, relaxing, I have a bit of a headache, but it's not too bad, I might take an Aleve in a bit so I can sleep. I work at 7:30 tomorrow, so I'm going to go to bed early. I'm actually looking forward to getting done with work so I can do some cleaning; nothing major, just some dusting and vacuuming.

I also need to get my hair trimmed-I might ask around work to see if anyone could do it for free (or for some baked goods hehe)

Ugh, headache is getting worse, so I think it's time for some Aleve, and then some reading!

New Year!

My facebook is deactivated!! I still feel the need to check my mail frequently-but I think it's more out of habit than anything else. So I'm hoping that will go away-and I won't feel the urge to check my email 50 times a day.

Anyway, I have to work at 11, so I should go and get ready for work. It's so ridiculous that I didn't get this weekend off for Sandberg Christmas. Ugh. I do need the money, but still.

Anyway, I'll probably write more when I get back from work. I do still have some cleaning to do....

Monday, December 28, 2009

So...it's been awhile since I last posted, so I thought I'd give an update. Today I don't work, so I'm cleaning today, it definitely needed it. Took out the garbage, did some vacuuming (going to finish in a bit) then washing the...like 5 dishes that I have, making my bed, and taking a shower before movie night. Laura and Theresa were tired after work today-since people were getting back from holiday travels and did all their shopping today...go figure. So we postponed movie night until next week-probably Monday again. So tonight I'm going to have my own movie night! I also need to work on putting people's information in my address book for when I shut down my facebook!! I'm getting really excited for it. I would do it early, but I still need to get people's info and then post mine for a couple days before I close it down.

I also want to give up soda for New Years...my reasoning is that it's pretty much just like alcohol-I don't need it. Although I think it will be much more difficult to give up than alcohol-because I never was too big of a drinker-unfortunately a few years ago I did go to parties and drink more than I felt comfortable with because that's what others were doing. But soda, I like the taste, and the caffeine, and the sweetness/sugar; so it will be more difficult.

Anyway, I should get back to cleaning so I can shower and then settle in for a relaxing night!

I just got back from seeing Avatar. I am literally speechless. I kinda want to say it's the best movie I've ever seen. James Cameron is my hero. Everything about it was amazing. I can't wait to see it again in the theater. This is what going to a movie is supposed to be. It was 3D too, so I was moving with them onscreen-that has never happened to me before-with any movie, 3D or otherwise.

It was simply beautiful, stunning, magnificent...*sigh*

This may sound silly or weird because it's "just a movie" But it really was amazing.

Update again...

I have 2 days off! I don't work until Saturday, then I work 4 days in a row and then not again until the 26th, so I'll have several days at home.

I'm going to see the movie Avatar tonight with Jessa, I'm really excited-that movie looks super good. Generally life is pretty boring right now, but it's nice to feel more laid back and relaxed-not so much like a roller coaster. It's nice to just glide smoothly, at least for awhile.

This may sound a little weird, but I've been thinking about my "dating life" and have been doing some thinking about courtship...since I feel more mature and "grown up" than I used to...which obviously comes with age, but I feel like I need to focus on myself, and I also feel like I'm ready to find my future husband-I feel ready to settle down, not do the casual dating thing.

I feel like....God is calling me to be closer to him. I'm trying to live to be a better person. I don't drink anymore, I don't smoke, I am REALLY trying not to swear. I'm trying to be more patient with people and circumstances and realize that I would not be given any task that I couldn't handle.

Anyway, I have some laundry and cleaning to do, so I should go. Can't wait for Christmas!!

I'm just sitting in bed, going to go to sleep soon since I work at 7:30 tomorrow. I have been trying to do research about different churches and the like in the area. I actually like the ministry of the Believers Church, but there isn't one in the area. As for churches in the area, I do like what I've found and heard about Valleybrook Church. So I think I'm going to go tomorrow night at 6 pm. But for now it's bedtime....

So, let's see...I did find out that I have to work on Sunday the 25th-from 10-5:30. So I left a note to see if anyone could work it for me or switch for a later shift or Monday. Today I'm just hanging out, watching tv, enjoying my day off. I'm getting hungry now though, so I'm going to go make some "lunch", haha, even though it's 3:30.
